Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
3/4 cup cold milk
4 large eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
Butter or cooking oil for frying eggs
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the cold milk. Stir with a fork until a soft dough forms.
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm). Use a round biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits from the dough. Gather the scraps and repeat until all the dough is used.
Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them.
Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown on top.
While the biscuits are baking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter or cooking oil and allow it to melt.
Crack the eggs into the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook to your desired doneness (e.g., sunny-side-up, over easy, or scrambled).
Once the biscuits are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Split the biscuits in half and place an egg on each bottom half. Cover with the top half of the biscuit.
Serve the Biscuits with Eggs warm and enjoy them for a delightful breakfast.
Tips:
For flakier biscuits, make sure the butter and milk are cold throughout the process.
Experiment with adding grated cheese, herbs, or spices to the biscuit dough for extra flavor variations.
Customize your breakfast by adding toppings like bacon, cheese, avocado, or a drizzle of hot sauce.
Now you’re ready to savor a scrumptious breakfast featuring Biscuits with Eggs!
